Becoming a Midwife
No Prior Health-care Work Experience
· If you have no previous healthcare experience, you can sign up for a 3-year Pre-registration degree course
· The course usually involves theory and practice, including subjects like Applied Sociology, Psychology and Biological Sciences
· Once the duration of your course is over, you can register yourself the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Experienced Health Care Professional
· If you're a qualified nurse, then you can enrol yourself on an 18-month (full-time) post-registration Short Course. Easy Peasy!
· Or, you can continue with your current job and do your post-registration Short Course part-time (usually takes 5 to 6 years)
